Dear Shaykh, I’ve got a question from my wife about menstruation. I have little bit understanding about the fiqh of menstration but the following situation I could not solve yet. Hopefully you can be of help.
My mother in law is a 70 years old lady, she has no medical problems, all her children are wealthy, educated and married, she currently lives with one of her sons and literally travels the world every three to four times a year. She does a lot around the house and is very active, but over the past 6 to 7 years she has been gossiping, and very negative about everything around her. She changes every positive into a negative. It has come to the point that it is causing stress in our relationship as everything we do seems we haven’t done anything. At her age it is hard to explain to her how to be more appreciatve and thankful to the blessings she has. Is there any hadith or duas to help her understand the positives in her life?
I use to wear a niqaab from 2005. I took it off in 2009 and that was the biggest mistake I ever made. I have never took my abaya and hijab off but recently i am craving to wear my niqab again as i know it will protect me from a lot of things. Even with my loose abaya and hijab i have men staring…and i don’t want anyone looking at me. I am married. I fear Allah .. My family will laugh and say for how long now? Can you please advise me.
Question on Irregular bleeding due to the Coil (IUD) answered by Umm Huzayfah
A woman usually experiences discharge on a regular basis. When she has her haiz and when on the last days when her colour is no longer light red/pink, but she has yellow discharge little more than the normal discharge. She is confused as does she have to wait till the yellow also clears or will that be regarded as discharge?
I have recently started wearing hijab, however, i am now being introduced to many different forms of it. Personally, I wear loose
fitting and covering clothing, with a scarf wrapped around my head, so as only my hands and face are showing. However, I have been told by
some that the niqab/face veil is the right way to cover oneself.

I have recently, alhamdulillah started wearing full hijaab, which of course includes the niqaab, and i have realised that as i walk down the street, I walk with a lot of confidance and pride; proud of the fact that I am a muslim woman in hijaab, unafraid of the western world.
I had menstrual discharge on wednesday but started the actual bleeding the next day. From which day shall I take my menstruation to commence from wednesday or thursday?
I am a revert to Islam, Alhamdulillah, I am married with two sons (6yrs and 4months old, Alhamdulillah). My husband is Muslim born and raised. I have found out through his phone texts that he’s been socializing with other women, Muslim and non-Muslim, calling them babes in his text and apparently helping one with a baby whose husband has left her.
