Tafsir of Surah al-Qasas (The Stories)
Surah Al-Qasas (Chapter 28 of the Qur’an) tells the story of Prophet Musa (Moses) and highlights themes of faith, justice, patience, and Allah’s guidance. The surah begins with the oppression of the Israelites under Pharaoh and describes how Musa was miraculously protected as a baby and raised in Pharaoh’s palace. It follows his journey from exile to prophethood, including his encounter with Allah at Mount Sinai and his mission to free his people.
The surah also recounts the story of Qarun (Korah), a wealthy man who became arrogant because of his riches and was ultimately destroyed as a warning against pride and greed. Overall, Surah Al-Qasas emphasizes that power and success come from Allah alone, and that righteousness, humility, and trust in God lead to true success.
This video series is a curated collection of reflections and summaries drawn from the 30 Days with the Qur’an series, where each Juz was explored over the month of Ramadan.
