"Your obedience does not benefit Him, and your disobedience does not harm Him. It is only for your own good that He commanded the one and prohibited the other". [211]
The aphorism discussed in this talk mirrors perfectly the Qur'anic verse: "Whoever practises righteousness it is for himself; and whoever sins, it is on himself…" (Surah al-Jathiyah)
